Buleleng, Bali — The development of North Bali International Airport continues to gain momentum, marked by a strategic collaboration between PT BIBU Panji Sakti (PT BIBU) and national electric vehicle manufacturer PT Mobil Anak Bangsa (PT MAB). The two companies have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to supply a fleet of electric vehicles that will support future airport operations in North Bali.

This partnership underscores that the airport project is not solely focused on building physical infrastructure, but also on adopting green transportation, advanced technology, and strengthening Indonesia’s domestic industry. The MoU signing, attended by senior executives from both companies, reflected strong optimism and a shared commitment to sustainable development through cross-sector collaboration between infrastructure and national automotive industries.

Designed as a next-generation gateway, North Bali International Airport is envisioned as more than a conventional aviation hub. Located in Kubutambahan, Buleleng, the project will be developed as an integrated area spanning thousands of hectares, comprising approximately 600 hectares for the airport, 300 hectares for an aerocity, and around 2,800 hectares for an aerotropolis.

The entire development is guided by the Tri Hita Karana philosophy—Balinese local wisdom emphasizing harmony between humanity, nature, and spirituality. This principle is embedded in spatial planning, architectural design, and environmentally responsible operational systems.

“We are designing North Bali International Airport as Indonesia’s future gateway—green, high-tech, and closely integrated with local communities,” said PT BIBU Panji Sakti CEO Erwanto Sad Adiatmoko Hariwibowo. This vision is reflected in the decision to make electric vehicles the backbone of internal mobility across the airport area.

PT Mobil Anak Bangsa, a pioneer in Indonesia’s commercial electric vehicle sector, will provide a range of zero-emission vehicles for airport operations, including e-buses, e-vans, e-trucks, and double-cabin electric vehicles. Founded by retired TNI General Dr. Moeldoko, MAB focuses on delivering sustainable mobility solutions for strategic sectors nationwide. All vehicles supplied under this cooperation are designed for energy efficiency, operational reliability, and the demands of a modern airport ecosystem.

The collaboration reinforces PT BIBU’s commitment to developing a fully integrated green airport while simultaneously supporting domestically produced electric vehicles. “For us, electric vehicles are not merely a mode of transport, but a vital element of the future airport ecosystem—clean, efficient, technology-driven, and supportive of national products,” Erwanto emphasized.

The electric vehicle fleet will later be operated by PT BIBU Aero Abipraya, a subsidiary of PT BIBU Panji Sakti responsible for managing transportation and internal mobility within the airport and aerotropolis area.

The company is led by President Director AA Ngurah Ugrasena, who is also Penglingsir of Puri Agung Buleleng.

“This collaboration goes beyond deploying electric vehicles at North Bali International Airport. It represents real synergy between sustainable infrastructure development and green transportation innovation,” Ngurah Ugrasena stated.

In line with national electric vehicle policies, the MAB vehicles used in the project continue to increase their Domestic Component Level (TKDN). This is expected to generate added economic value, strengthen local industries, and create new employment opportunities.

“I am proud that MAB products are trusted to support a national-scale project like North Bali International Airport. This is not just about vehicle procurement, but part of Indonesia’s journey toward a cleaner and more competitive future,” said PT Mobil Anak Bangsa President Director Kelik Irwantono.

Through this collaboration, North Bali International Airport is steadily positioning itself as a symbol of Indonesia’s development transformation—where technology, sustainability, and local wisdom converge in a new national gateway.
